Mrkvove Pulao / Carrot Pulao

CO POTREBUJETE:

1 hrncek ryze Basmati / 1 cup of Basmati rice
voda na jej namacanie / water to soak the rice

1 lyzica ghee / 1tbsp of ghee
kusok skorice / small piece of cinnamon
3 tobolky zeleneho kardamonu / 3 pieces of green cardamon
3 klinceky / 3 pieces of cloves
1 susena cervena chilli papricka / 1 dry red chilli
2 struciky cesnaku / 2 garlic cloves
1 cervena cibula / 1 red onion
1 mensia paradajka /  1 small tomato
1 mrkva /  1 carrot
2 hrnceky vody / 2 cups of water
sol / salt
mlete cierne korenie / ground black pepper
1/3 lyzicky sladkej mletej papriky / 1/3tsp paprika powder
cerstva koriandrova vnat / fresh coriander leaves

AKO POSTUPOVAT:

Hlineny hrniec na pol hodiny namocime do vody. Ryzu preplachneme a na 15 minut namocime vo vode. Potom vodu scedime. / Soak clay pot for half an hour in water. Wash the rice and soak it in water for 15 minutes. Then drain the water.

Hrniec dame na najslabsi ohen a pomaly ho zohrievame, ohen postupne zvysujeme. Pridame ghee. Do ghee dame skoricu, klinceky, kardamon a chilli papricku. Restujeme, aby koreniny zavonali. Potom pridame nadrobno nakrajany cesnak a nechame rozvonat. / Place clay pot on low flame, slowly heat the pot, gradually increasing the flame. Add ghee. Add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and chilli. Fry spices until they unfold its aroma. Then add the finely chopped garlic.

Dalej pridame nadrobno nakrajanu cibulu a restujeme domakka. / Add chopped onion and fry until tender.

Potom pridame nadrobno nakrajanu paradajku a restujeme asi 5 minut pod pokrievkou, aby sa paradajka rozpadla. Dalej pridame na male kusky nakrajanu mrkvu a 2 minuty restujeme. / Then add the finely chopped tomatoes and fry for about 5 minutes with the lid on. Then add chopped carrots and fry for 2 minutes.

Zeleninu zalejeme dvomi poharmi vody, pridame sol, mlete cierne korenie a sladku mletu papriku. Premiesame a vodu privedieme do varu. Ked sa voda zacina varit, pridame scedenu ryzu. Premiesame a znova privedieme vodu do varu. Ohen zmiernime a pulao varime s mierne poodchylenou pokrievkou, kym sa voda nevypari. / Add two cups of water, salt, black pepper and paprika powder. Stir and bring to a boil. When the water starts to boil add the strained rice. Stir and bring again to boil. Reduce the flame and cook pulao with a slightly open lid until the water has evaporated.

Hotove pulao posypeme nasekanou koriandrovou vnatou. / Finally sprinkle with chopped coriander leaves.

Pozeme podavat s oblubenym salatom z cerstvej zeleniny, je to tiez jedlo vhodne do obedara. /
Serve with any salad made of fresh vegetables. This meal is good also for your lunchbox.
